Short Form Video Editor

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and creative Short Form Video Editor to join our team. As a Short Form Video Editor, you will be responsible for editing videos for platforms such as YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, and TikTok. The videos will be approximately 30 to 90 seconds in length and will require captions, relevant video clips or images, and branded font and colors to align with our brand identity. Additionally, you will be responsible for creating visually appealing cover images for our feed to ensure a cohesive and aesthetically pleasing look.

Responsibilities:

Video Editing: Edit and produce engaging short form videos (30-90 seconds) for platforms such as YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, and TikTok. Ensure videos are visually appealing, on-brand, and captivating to the target audience.

Content Curation: Select appropriate video clips or images that are relevant to the topics discussed in the video. Curate and incorporate content from various sources, ensuring high-quality and visually appealing visuals.

Captioning: Add accurate and well-timed captions to the videos to improve accessibility and engagement. Ensure captions are properly synced with the video content and follow our brand guidelines.

Branding: Maintain consistency with our brand identity by using branded fonts, colors, and graphic elements in the videos. Ensure the videos align with our overall brand message and image.

Cover Image Creation: Create visually appealing cover images that will be displayed on our feed. Design captivating and attractive visuals that entice viewers to click and watch the video.

Highlights from Long Form Videos: Take key highlights or moments from long form videos and repurpose them into short form clips. Edit and optimize the clips to create engaging standalone content that captures the essence of the original video.

Collaboration: Work closely with the content creators and marketing team to understand the video objectives, target audience, and brand guidelines. Collaborate effectively to ensure video edits align with the overall content strategy.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a video editor, preferably with a focus on short form video content for social media platforms.

Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, etc.) and knowledge of video formats, codecs, and exporting.

Strong creative and visual storytelling skills with an understanding of video composition, pacing, and timing.

Knowledge of captioning techniques and tools to create accurate and visually appealing captions.

Familiarity with social media platforms such as YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, and TikTok, and an understanding of their specific requirements and best practices.

Ability to work independently and efficiently manage multiple projects, adhering to deadlines and maintaining attention to detail.

Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with content creators and the marketing team.

A portfolio or samples of previous short form video editing work demonstrating creativity, technical proficiency, and adherence to brand guidelines.
